Job Description

N-iX is seeking a Middle Java Engineer with AWS experience to join their team working on a project for a major school transportation provider in North America. Responsibilities include owning and troubleshooting support tickets, investigating and resolving technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and proposing solutions. The role requires proficiency in Java, AWS services (Lambda, Redshift, SNS, SQS, ECS, RDS, CloudWatch, Kinesis, CodeCommit, ECR, S3), non-relational and relational databases, and excellent communication skills. The project involves working on a large-scale enterprise system impacting thousands of employees and millions of users. This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to a significant digital transformation.

Must have:

3+ years Java development experience
AWS experience (Lambda, Redshift, etc.)
Non-relational and RDBMS knowledge
Excellent communication skills
Troubleshooting and problem-solving

Good to have:

Technical support experience
Angular 10+ UI development
CI/CD using AWS

About the project:

Our customer is the leading school transportation provider in North America, being the owner of more than a half of all yellow school buses in the United States. Every day, the company completes 5 million student journeys, moving more passengers than all U.S. airlines combined and delivers reliable, quality services for 1,100 school districts.

Responsibilities:

Own support tickets and troubleshooting, within the existing tools and services
Investigate Technical Issues: reported problems and bugs, by reading the code, identify an issue’s root cause, describe an issue’s symptoms
Quantify an issue’s scope and propose a solution
Working with internal cross-functional teams to solve technical problems
Solving technical problems, demonstrating product value, and communicating clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
Troubleshoot areas of poor performance and identify effective solutions to resolve issues both in the immediate future and for the longer term.
Document support ticket resolution and apply these fixes for customers

Requirements:

3+ years of JAVA development experience
Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Redshift, SNS, SSN, SQS, ECS, RDS, CloudWatch, Kinesis, CodeCommit, ECR, S3)
Knowledge of non-relational databases (DynamoDB)
Knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL)
Upper intermediate+ English level
Excellent professional communication skills
High level of responsibility

Would be a plus:

Experience in technical support (issues troubleshooting)
Experience with Angular 10+ for UI development
Knowledge of CI/CD approaches using the AWS toolset
