Contract Manager - L&S

Responsible to manage high complexity portfolio from L & S Categories contract implementation, in collaboration with other functions in line with global compliance guidelines and policy. Own and drive contract value materialization and partnering with global standardization agenda regionally across all L&S procurement categories.

Location: Charlotte, NC or US Central, US East Coast state.

Key responsibilities

Contract Management

  • Design, implement, and manage vendor performance and contract management functions according to global standards.
  • Raise awareness of contract management and ensure compliance among internal stakeholders regarding contractual terms.
  • Conduct contract handovers to ensure clarity on execution and roles/responsibilities.
  • Prioritize compliance across procurement categories to support Maersk's sustainability and risk management goals.
  • Establish governance, guidelines, and policies in collaboration with L&S Leadership and Category Managers.

Contract Value Realization

  • Maximize contract value by regularly managing performance and ensuring targets are met (rebates, commitments, penalties).
  • Provide visibility on risks and opportunities in collaboration with relevant business functions.
  • Collaborate with global operators in contract and performance management to share regional insights.
  • Facilitate proactive feedback loops between Procurement and the business to identify contractual risks and growth potential.
  • Partner with sourcing managers to develop strategies for SLA and Contract Value based on current contract learnings for renegotiation.

Digital Transformation

  • Passion for technology, a detailed-oriented way of work and the willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Leverage technology and closely collaborate with the digital team along with Platform Product Owner.
  • Enable sustainable and profitable growth through best-in-class performance management culture, optimizing analytical behaviors and driving digital innovation across the procurement cycle.

Required qualification, experience  & skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in Logistics, specifically inland transportation, warehousing, -Cold Chain, Intermodal, contract logistics and Supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Strong background in procurement, compliance and/or finance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management.
  • Ability to work with limited guidance and identify opportunities independently.
  • Possess the ability to manage many stakeholders at different levels of seniority, both within and outside the Maersk organization.
  • Experience in driving performance management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of contract mapping process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with high learning agility.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and bring change.
  • Strategic thinking with capability of execution and engaging teams across the business.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 USD*

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match.

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
