Job Description

Lead Gameplay Engineer at Monolith Productions to work on their upcoming Wonder Woman title. Responsibilities include writing C++ code in a proprietary engine, organizing and distributing work to gameplay engineers, collaborating with design and art teams, communicating project status, and writing documentation. The role requires leading the team responsible for core gameplay systems (combat, movement, Nemesis system, etc.), implementing systems in collaboration with designers, and representing the Gameplay team across the studio. Experience with 3D game engines and C++ is essential.

The Job
Join the Wonder Woman team and help bring an iconic DC Superhero to life!

Monolith Productions is currently looking for a lead to join our Gameplay team.  As a Gameplay Lead, you will lead the team responsible for core gameplay systems inherent to Monolith’s proprietary engine, including combat, movement, the Nemesis system, and more!  You will collaborate closely with our design team to coordinate the implementation of these systems, and represent the interests of the Gameplay team throughout the studio.

The Daily

  • Write C++ code in a data-driven, proprietary engine
  • Help organize and distribute work for our gameplay engineers
  • Collaborate closely with design and art to build core gameplay experiences
  • Communicate to other teams and senior leadership the current status of feature work
  • Write concise documentation for code and complex systems

The Essentials

  • 6+ years professional experience in C++
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of 3D math commonly used in game development
  • Understanding of common game development concepts and systems
  • Prior experience working in a 3D game engine (Unreal, Unity, etc.)

The Nice to Haves

  • People management experience
  • Experience developing against console platforms (Xbox, PS, etc.)
  • Experience working in agile processes, such as Scrum

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $99,890.00 - $185,510.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
