Position Details: 
Term: 3 to 6 month contract-to-hire 
Location: hybrid role. 2-3 days onsite in San Mateo, CA.
Hours: Mon-Friday 8-5pm PST 
Hourly pay + benefits. Up to $55.00/hr . 
 
Our multimedia client in CA is looking for a dynamic IT Hardware Asset Manager to join their team. 
 
 What you'll do as the Asset Manager: 
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
    • Procurement: 
      • Scheduled Orders: Manage the procurement process for scheduled hardware orders (e.g., quarterly laptop refreshes) according to established procedures. This includes forecasting demand, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery.
      • Non-Scheduled Orders: Handle ad-hoc hardware requests and special projects (e.g., early refresh programs) by efficiently sourcing and procuring necessary devices.
      • QA Devices: Manage the procurement process for a diverse range of QA devices, including consoles, mobile devices, and laptops/desktops, ensuring alignment with testing needs.
      • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with hardware vendors, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
      Asset Management: 
      • Receiving and Inventory: Oversee the receiving process for new and used hardware shipments, including accurate inventory tracking, data entry into asset management systems (e.g., Jira Assets, SNOW), and physical storage.
      • Deployment and Tracking: Manage the deployment of hardware to employees, including asset assignment, configuration, and tracking throughout their lifecycle.
      • Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate hardware maintenance and repairs, ensuring devices are in good working order and meet performance standards.
      • Tech Refresh: Implement and manage the CorpEng tech refresh program, adhering to established policies and guidelines. This includes evaluating devices for refresh eligibility, coordinating replacements, and managing the transition process.
      • Decommissioning: Manage the secure and responsible disposal of obsolete or end-of-life hardware through e-waste, buyback programs, or other approved methods.
      • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on hardware inventory, usage, and costs. Analyze data to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and inform procurement decisions.
      • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of asset management processes, procedures, and guidelines.
      • Finance Reporting: Collaborate with finance teams to provide accurate reporting on hardware assets, including cost breakdowns, depreciation, and financial forecasting.
      • Inventory Optimization: Utilize defined formulas and key variables (e.g., new hires, refresh eligibility, outstanding refreshes) to forecast inventory needs, maintain optimal stock levels, and prevent shortages.
    What you'll bring to the table: 
     
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in hardware asset management, preferably in a corporate environment.
    • Strong understanding of IT hardware, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and consoles.
    • Proficiency in asset management systems and tools (e.g., Jira Assets, SNOW, JAMF).
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management.
              Knowledge of data security and privacy best practices.
    Bonus Points: 
    • Experience with hardware lifecycle management and refresh programs.
    • Familiarity with e-waste and IT asset disposal regulations.
