Sorare is a fantasy sports gaming experience and marketplace featuring officially licensed digital player cards. With Sorare you build legacy teams –  buying, selling, collecting and trading player cards -- and compete with them in free-to-play fantasy games to win rewards week over week and season over season, just like a professional sports owner.

Our Journey

Sorare was founded by Nicolas Julia and Adrien Montfort in 2018 in Paris to bring sports fans across the globe closer to the players, teams, and leagues they love.

With 130-plus employees across France and US, Sorare is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups and recently raised a $680 million Series B funding round from world-class investors including SoftBank, Accel, and Benchmark. Please note that Sorare is a hybrid work company; employees are required to be in office 3 days a week. 

As the Head of Design, your mission will be to help craft a product and a brand that will become the most desirable within the sports world. Our Managers should feel that owning Sorare cards makes them a part of a community of sports lovers, and that the cards unlock unique experiences, and are part of incredible games. Card ownership must feel magical.

The Head of Design will be responsible along with the Product and Engineering teams for defining and evolving Sorare’s user experience within our three sports .

You don’t have to be an expert in sports, gaming or blockchain to work at Sorare. What we look for is people who like to get things done, know how to work in a scrappy and exciting work environment take full ownership for their work, and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Vision: Own the Sorare design vision and bring it to life. You will need to quickly gain a deep understanding of Sorare’s product, partnerships, community, and usage in order to inspire and execute. Identify issues from a user-centred perspective and bring creative solutions. 

• Craft: Be a leader on the ground, leading by example and showing your team how to design simple, intuitive and delightful mobile-first experiences.

• Develop : Attract world-class product and creative designers. Build a lean team focused on achieving  high quality and high impact. 

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a design leadership role for a consumer-facing app

• Proven experience building, managing, and empowering successful and lean teams

• Strong communication skills; experience interacting with and influencing cross-functional teams

• Interest in sports and sport fandom

• Hands-on creator, who cares deeply about your craft

• Opinions in consumer design generally and ideally art / fashion trends
