Job Description

The Gemini Partner Engineer at Google's gTech Users and Products (gUP) contributes to expanding Gemini's capabilities. This role involves shaping the future of human-AI interaction, building partner-facing solutions, and improving the model's capabilities. Responsibilities include serving as a technical expert, mentoring team members, contributing to LLM-based solutions, influencing product strategy, staying updated on industry trends, and advocating for partners and user experience. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in web technologies, programming languages, software development, and technical troubleshooting, along with strong collaboration and communication skills. This position is at the forefront of AI technology and innovation, offering opportunities to build first-of-their-kind technical solutions and improve Gemini's market reach.

Must have:

9+ years web tech experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP)
9+ years coding experience (Python, C++, etc.)
5+ years software development & system design
Technical troubleshooting & partner management
Expertise in LLM solutions and processes

Good to have:

MBA or Master's degree
Experience with external clients/partners
Machine Learning experience (6+ years)
Experience with geographically distributed teams
Independent work, prioritization, project management

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
9 years of experience working with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
9 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C++).
5 years of experience with software development and with architectural components and system design.
Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
9 years of experience running technical engagements with external clients/partners.
6 years of experience using Machine Learning and building solutions.
Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams to execute on a shared goal.
Ability to work independently, prioritize team assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to share opinions on and contribute to complex technical projects and influence direction with stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical expert for the team, providing guidance on architecture, design, implementation, and best practices.
Mentor and coach team members, foster their technical growth and development through code reviews, collaborative troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to the evolution of Gemini through Large Language Model (LLM)-based solutions/processes (ex: tools/colabs) for partner schema ingestion, data preparation and quality iterations, prompt engineering, running evaluations, loss bucket analysis, Supervised Fine Tuning (SFT) data points.
Influence product strategy and work with cross-functional teams to bring partner-facing features to market. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and latest Machine Learning (ML) research, tools and techniques.
Advocate for partners, user experience, and for partner success with Engineering and Product teams.
