Summary

The Foundry Development Reliability Intern will support Intel's collaborations with external companies, customizing Intel process offerings for foundry customers. Responsibilities include conducting and analyzing electrical tests to quantify device reliability, identifying failure modes, supporting QRE, and developing compact models. The intern will guide manufacturing process development to meet reliability requirements, design and execute experiments, and develop risk assessments using statistical principles. The role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborating with various Intel teams and external partners. This internship focuses on improving the quality and reliability of transistors, interconnects, and other devices for Intel Foundry initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.In this position you will join the new Foundry Mfg Development (FMD) QnR organization - Supporting various collaborations Intel has with external companies and customizing existing Intel process offerings to meet new foundry customers' requirements. You will be part of the team developing the process for the current and future Intel Foundry initiatives process in the various Intel fabs - Partnering with Fab, FEC (Fab Eng and Customization), IFS (Intel Foundry) and many QnR teams to develop and modify the process so the transistors, interconnects and other devices will meet the quality and reliability performance goals.

In this role you will conduct and analyze electrical tests to quantify devices reliability behavior and identify failure modes that may limit the technology. Support QRE and provide data to develop physics-based and empirical compact models that will be delivered to the Foundry customers design teams to ensure overall product reliability. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Guiding manufacturing process development to ensure the technology will meet all reliability requirements (e.g. Hot Carriers, BTI, EM, TDDB). Design and execute experiments to validate reliability models. Develop risk assessments and making quality and reliability predictions based on data collected using statistical principles and design of experiments fundamentals. We are a very agile and lean team, working under tight schedule, looking for candidates that can operate in everchanging, dynamic and constrained environment.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Requirements listed below would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Qualifications:Graduate student for PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field of study. 6+ months of experience in:  

  • Experience in semiconductor device physics, such us CMOS transistor.
  • Statistical concepts and the use of tools like R, JMP/SAS
  • Scripting languages like JSL, PERL, Python, SQL, TCL, VBScript.
  • Programming with formal language C+, C

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience as Si Foundry
  • Experience in big data processing
  • Experience in experimental design execution and interpretation.
  • Experience with semiconductor device fabrication integration and characterization.
