Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Operations Program Manager at Google will lead and manage EHS programs and projects to enhance business operations and technical aspects. This role requires managing EHS compliance, ensuring adherence to Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations, maintaining permits, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Responsibilities include planning program activities, identifying stakeholders, executing compliance tasks, evaluating incident data, and managing corrective/preventive actions. The position also involves organizing meetings, reports, and site plans to assess operational EHS risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS management systems, experience managing environmental programs (emissions, wastewater, etc.), and proven project management skills. Domestic and international travel is required (up to 25%).

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
2+ years program/project management experience
2+ years EHS management systems experience
EHS compliance with environmental programs
Manage EHS programs and projects
Ensure AHJ regulatory compliance

Good to have:

Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety
Certifications from BCSP or NEBOSH
Cross-functional project management experience
Experience with AHJs (Federal, State, Local)
Fluent in English and French

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in program or project management.
2 years of experience in EHS management systems or experience managing EHS compliance with environmental programs (e.g., emissions, wastewater, etc.).
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) or equivalent agency.
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience communicating with Authority Having Jurisdictions (AHJ’s) (Federal, State, and Local Authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.
Ability to speak and write in English and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Responsibilities

Manage Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and projects to improve business operations and technical aspects. Identify, organize, and plan program activities and stakeholders in order to successfully deliver business, operational, and technical improvements.
Ensure compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations, maintain permits, and monitor program Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance.
Independently execute and manage EHS compliance calendar task/requirements.
Evaluate incident data and track corrective/preventive actions to closure.
Organize and execute meetings, reports, and site plans (identify and assess operational EHS risks).
