The Productivity Metrics and System Insights team is crucial to our Developer Experience organization. It focuses on empowering Netflix engineers with comprehensive system insights and metrics to enhance decision-making, optimize workflows, and drive engineering excellence across the organization. This team is responsible for developing solutions that visualize and analyze comprehensive system insights and metrics, supporting engineering excellence and aligning with strategic goals of accelerating innovation and reducing risk. 

We are looking for a seasoned engineering manager to lead the team in creating best-in-class productivity insights and system insights that will inform investment opportunities across the Netflix software ecosystem.

Who you are

• An experienced engineering leader dedicated to people development, fostering a robust team environment, and cultivating an inclusive culture.

• Possess excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.

• Experience leading software engineers and data practitioners within a centralized infrastructure engineering organization.

• Knowledge and experience developing metrics and insights patterns used in productivity engineering such as DORA and SPACE

• A superb collaborator across teams who is proactive, able to drive alignment, and can clearly articulate tradeoffs with partner teams.

• Skilled in working with customers and demonstrating customer empathy by deeply understanding user needs, what constitutes a good user experience, and the ability to translate and prioritize user requirements into actionable tasks.

• Approach problems with a product mindset with experience in close partnerships with Product Management and Design.

• Proficient in data-driven decision-making.

• A creative problem solver who recognizes that conventional methods won't achieve our goals.

• An informed leader with a background in Software and Data Engineering

• Someone comfortable wearing multiple hats depending on the needs of the team.

• Demonstrated ability to hire, guide, and grow teams composed of stunning engineers which serve thousands more.
