The Disneyland Facilities Mechanical Engineering Intern position offers a chance to gain practical experience in various project phases, from drafting and on-site documentation to design coordination and construction administration. Interns will assist engineers across disciplines (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical) on projects ranging from minor renovations to new building construction within the Disneyland Resort. The program emphasizes professional development and practical knowledge increase. Responsibilities include data collection, design work, and contributing to project closeout documentation. The internship runs from June to December 2025 in Anaheim, CA.
Must have:
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
  • Strong leadership, technical, interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, handles multiple tasks
  • Availability for various shifts
  • Mechanical Engineering degree
Good to have:
  • Prior co-op/intern experience
  • Power plant design experience
  • HVAC design experience
  • Thermo/Fluid Dynamics coursework

Job Summary:

About the Role & Program:

Within the Disneyland Resort, the Architecture & Facility Engineering Services (A&FES) Division program is specially designed to develop you professionally, increase your practical knowledge in your area of technical expertise, while also completing valuable work for the Resort. You will have a wide range of opportunities to assist and provide key data to A&FES Architects and Engineers on various types of projects including Attractions, Maintenance, Foods, Merchandise and Entertainment.

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 to December 2025.

This is a full-time position, and interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

This Internship is in Anaheim, CA.

What You Will Do:

Assist project Engineers – Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical, in all phases of project work, from drafting, on-site as-built documentation, design coordination with outside design consultants, field data collection, light design / production work, construction administration, commissioning, and closeout documentation for a variety of projects ranging in scope from minor rehabs to building new facilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with AutoCAD, REVIT and/or BIM (Building Information Modeling).

  • Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative - able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:  

  • Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on architecture, engineering, or construction.

  • Coursework or prior work experience in Power Plant design (Chilling plants, Boiling plants).

  • Coursework or prior work experience in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Design.

  • Coursework or prior work experience in Thermo and/or Fluid Dynamics.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college/university, earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  •  GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding)

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information:

• Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines  

• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

• Fully available Monday thru Friday, PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week

 • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Anaheim, CA area

• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work


Pay Transparency: The pay rate for this role as an undergraduate in CA is $30.00 /hr. The pay rate for this role as a graduate student in CA is $35.00/hr.
