DevOps Manager

The opportunity

Unity is the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D (RT3D) content. We are seeking a DevOps Manager to lead the Build and Deploy team within our Production Reliability Engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and advancing Unity’s build and deployment strategy to drive measurable business impact.

As a DevOps Manager, you will foster strong, collaborative relationships with Unity's development teams and security teams, ensuring alignment on CI/CD objectives and DevOps best practices. You are a proactive, resourceful leader with a passion for problem-solving and innovation, demonstrating strong ownership and unwavering commitment to customer success. You approach challenges with curiosity, continuously striving for improvement and growth. While this role is based in our Montreal office, you will work closely with teams across the AMER and EMEA regions, empowering Unity's development teams to deliver innovative real-time 3D products that delight our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-caliber team of DevOps Engineers and contribute to our culture of transparency, accountability, and psychological safety.

• Develop strategic direction for the team and ensure successful implementation.

• Identify, prioritize, and complete opportunities that improve the software development lifecycle's speed, reliability, and efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Engineering management experience. Prior management of DevOps or CI/CD team is a strong plus.

• Technical expertise that allows you to develop and mentor others as well as build credibility with your team (eg. Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, GCP/AWS/Azure, Go).

• Ability to navigate ambiguity, critical thinking, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• 5+ years in building and operating public cloud-based infrastructure or in a DevOps position with a history of hands-on contribution.

• Passion for a holistic approach to DevOpsé

• Proficient in Python or GoLang, with hands-on experience in developing automation scripts.
