Job Description

As a Customer Engineer I, you'll partner with technical Sales teams as a cyber-security expert to showcase Google Cloud and security solutions. You'll help customers understand Google Cloud's capabilities, develop cloud solutions, conduct proofs of concept, and troubleshoot technical issues related to cybersecurity. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, sharing security knowledge, supporting bid responses, and working with Google Cloud products to demonstrate integrations. You'll recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures, travel to customer sites, and act as a public advocate for Google Cloud. This role requires strong cloud native architecture experience, cybersecurity expertise (threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, IAM), and excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and executive stakeholders.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
4+ years cloud native architecture experience
Cybersecurity expertise (threat detection, IAM)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting

Good to have:

Master's degree in a technical field
Cloud or Security certifications
Experience implementing enterprise security solutions
Experience building customer relationships
Knowledge of cybersecurity market trends

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
Experience in cybersecurity matters (e.g. threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, Identity and Access Management systems).
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Cloud or Security industry certifications.
Experience implementing security solutions for enterprises (e.g. threat detection and hunting, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or Identity and Access Management systems).
Experience prospecting, and building and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building Greenfield territories in accounts.
Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry (e.g. ransomware, attack frameworks, zero trust, etc.).

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a cyber-security subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud and security solutions to customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks related to cyber-security. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will partner with internal engineering stakeholders to improve products and build solutions, optimizing for results when in production and identifying innovative ways to multiply impact and the impact of the team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Share Security knowledge to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
