The Creative Producer at ESPN Creative Studio's Visual Storytelling division will lead strategy and workflow for large-scale broadcast projects and marketing campaigns. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to set creative strategies, overseeing project communication and budget tracking, managing team meetings and deliverables, making budget decisions, conducting research, and forecasting long-range plans. The role requires managing in-house and external teams, ensuring adherence to department procedures, and a deep understanding of ESPN's brand and distribution points. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of broadcast producing or marketing experience and strong project management, communication, and teamwork skills.

Job Summary:

The Visual Storytelling division of ESPN Creative Studio is a team of creative directors, art directors, animators, concept artists, visual journalists, photo editors, web developers, graphic designers and strategy producers whose work reaches across every ESPN platform: We lead the creative direction and execution of on-air brand identities for ESPN’s live events and studio shows. We are responsible for the creative content on ESPN.com and the ESPN app, including photography, illustration, and interactive storytelling. We create and produce key art for ESPN+ and manage product art across our digital products. We manage the design voice of our ESPN brand, from holistic marketing campaigns to cross-platform creative systems.

The Creative Strategy and Integration team is part of Visual Storytelling and is responsible for the strategic creative vision and execution plan for ESPN Creative Studio’s portfolio of work. We also create and optimize new and innovative workflows across digital, streaming, broadcast and marketing. The Creative Producer builds and oversees strategy and workflow for large-scale broadcast seasonal and new projects as well as marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Manager and Strategy stakeholders to set creative strategy and execution plan for season-long graphic identity projects and marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee in-project communication and budget tracking for vendor work.
  • Organize and run stakeholder and creative team meetings, setting each team member up for success with clear agendas, goals and next steps.
  • Point of contact for strategy communications from Creative Producing and Production.
  • Manage changes to deliverables lists and/or project schedules
  • Make budget decisions within limits prescribed by creative and executive leaders.
  • Conduct and organize research for projects in collaboration with creative leaders. Collect and analyze project takeaways in an accessible and user-friendly space.
  • Forecast with Senior Management to build long range planning and priorities.
  • Accountable for strict adherence to established department procedures.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of various network and show looks/campaigns.
  • Motivate, educate, direct a team or individual Designers, Animators, Editors and others assigned to a project whether in-house, freelance or with an external production group.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years broadcast producing or marketing experience
  • Ability to run internal meetings, and some meetings with client/stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft based software (Word, Excel, 365)
  • Demonstrated ability to get along with diverse personalities and working styles
  • Partnering and teamwork skills
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to lead creative and producing teams on large and small scale projects
  • Detail and multi-task oriented, the ability to multitask and deliver consistently with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Very strong communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the sports design space, trends, and an understanding of ESPN’s place amongst the competition
  • Knowledge of ESPN distribution points, including MVPDs and SVODs
  • Knowledge of project management tools, including Asana, Atlassian tools, Smartsheet, etc.

Required Education

  • College Diploma or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $89,872.00 to $120,560.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
