Summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to support a global commodity trader's cloud transformation program. Responsibilities include designing and developing scalable enterprise data warehouse solutions on Azure, implementing data integration and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, optimizing data storage solutions using Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse Analytics), and ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. The role also involves designing and developing ETL processes, implementing data security measures, and collaborating with data architects and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with Azure data solutions (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Data Warehouse), be Microsoft Certified (Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect), and possess strong SQL and database management skills.

Project description

Luxoft's client, a global commodity trader, are embarking on a significant cloud transformation and modernization program, streamlining their architecture, remediating legacy infrastructure issues and providing a new scalable platform for business growth. As part of this transformation Luxoft require an Azure Enterprise Architect to work with the client on the Azure foundations, policies, guardrails and enterprise architecture that will underpin the transformation.

Responsibilities

You will be engaged by the bank as an Azure Data Warehouse Specialist to drive the following activities:

Design and Development

Architect, design, and develop scalable enterprise data warehouse solutions on Azure.

Implement data integration and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory.

Optimize data storage solutions using Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse Analytics), Azure Data Lake, and other relevant services.

Implementation and Management

Deploy and manage data warehouse environments using Snowflake on a data layer

Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning of data warehouse solutions.

Monitor and manage data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing.

Data Integration and ETL

Design and develop ETL processes to integrate data from various on-premises and cloud-based sources.

Transform and clean data to meet the business requirements for reporting and analytics.

Security and Compliance:

Implement data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure data protection.

Collaboration and Support

Work closely with data architects, development team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.

Provide technical support and training to other team members and end-users as needed.

Documentation and Best Practices:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of data warehouse architectures, processes, and workflows.

Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data warehousing and cloud computing.

Skills

Must have

5+ years of relevant experience: deep expertise in cloud data solutions and expert level of design/architectural experience

Must have expertise in Azure data solutions( Azure data factory, Synapse, Azure data warehouse and other Azure techs).

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.

While Azure experience is the focus, major advantage: experience in Snowflake

Other skills:

Strong SQL and database management skills.

Proficiency in ETL tools and processes.

Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

Experience with Microsoft Fabric in Banking environment

Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.

Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics.
