The Atom/Quark CPU Design Verification Engineer at Intel is responsible for ensuring the functional verification of CPU logic to meet specifications. This includes developing verification plans, test benches, and environments using System Verilog, OVM/UVM, and programming languages like Perl/C/C++. The role involves executing verification plans, simulating models, analyzing power and timing, debugging issues, and collaborating with architects and design teams. Responsibilities extend to defining architectural features, improving verification infrastructure, and resolving test failures. Strong analytical and debugging skills are essential.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE/CE
  • System Verilog, OVM/UVM experience

  • Pre-silicon verification experience
  • Strong debugging skills

Job Description

  • Performs functional verification of CPU logic to ensure design will meet specification requirements.
  • Develops IP verification plans, test benches, and the verification environment to ensure coverage to confirm to CPU microarchitecture specifications.
  • Executes verification plans and defines and runs system simulation models to verify the design, analyze power and timing, and uncover bugs.
  • Replicates, root causes, and debugs issues in the presilicon environment.
  • Finds and implements corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborates with CPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to improve verification of complex architectural and microarchitectural features and to meet functional, performance, and power goals.
  • Documents test plans and drives technical reviews of plans and proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintains and improves existing functional verification infrastructure and methodology.
  • Participates in the definition of architecture and microarchitecture features of the CPU being designed actively.

Qualifications

You must possess a minimum of Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of Computer System Architecture, x86 CPU architecture knowledge will be a big plus.
  • Experience in tools and methodologies for pre-silicon verification/logic design including but not limited to: System Verilog, PERL/C/C++ programming.
  • Experience in OVM/UVM environment, developing testplans/testbenches and writing/debugging tests in simulation models.
  • Strong analyzing and debugging skill, creative in problem solving.
