Nous recherchons un-e concepteur-trice technique expérimenté-e pour rejoindre l'équipe de projets de Haven Entertainment Studios. Le-la concepteur-trice technique sera chargé-e de consolider les ponts entre le game design, le level design et la programmation. Faisant partie du processus de validation des fonctionnalités et des systèmes, vous anticiperez et soutiendrez l'ensemble de leur développement, à toutes les étapes de la production :  En étroite collaboration avec les concepteurs-trices, vous utiliserez votre expertise pour demander ou créer des leviers de prototypage, construire des gymnases et les maintenir pour des prototypes itératifs rapides pour de nouvelles fonctionnalités. Vous travaillerez avec le-la directeur-trice de la conception technique des niveaux afin d'établir des directives claires et des règles rationnelles de conception des niveaux pour une meilleure utilisation de nos fonctionnalités et systèmes dans le jeu. Vous coordonnerez, créerez et maintiendrez des outils de jeu et de débogage efficaces pour les concepteurs-trices.

Le-la concepteur-trice technique senior est placé-e sous la responsabilité d'un-e producteur-trice.

Responsabilités et tâches

  • Développer et maintenir des outils de jeu et des outils de débogage pour les concepteurs-trices.

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec l'équipe de programmation pour améliorer les outils existants et en créer de nouveaux.

  • Parallèlement au développement des fonctionnalités et des systèmes, établir une solide liste de contrôle rationnelle pour la conception des niveaux et communiquer les exigences techniques à l'équipe de conception des niveaux afin d'assurer la meilleure expérience de jeu possible.

  • Fournir des conseils et un encadrement aux concepteurs-trices lorsqu'ils travaillent sur le moteur de jeu. Communiquer des directives et des instructions claires sur les meilleures pratiques.

  • Faire le lien entre l'équipe de conception et l'équipe d'ingénierie pour s'assurer que les outils et les développements du moteur répondent aux besoins de la conception du jeu.

  • Élaborer et développer des stratégies de validation des données (rapports, tests automatisés, etc.).

  • Optimisation des systèmes et des fonctionnalités.

Expérience et compétences requises

  • Plus de 5 ans d'expérience dans des fonctions connexes

  • Forte compréhension des outils modernes de conception de niveau et de débogage du moteur

  • Bonne compréhension de la relation entre le level design, le game design et le gameplay

Qualifications préférées

  • Forte expertise de UE5

  • Expérience de travail sur un GAAS

  • Compréhension des principes et théories du game design et de leur corrélation avec l'expérience et la satisfaction des joueurs-euses.

  • Compétences en programmation et/ou en écriture de scripts (python, blueprint, etc.)

Position Technical Designer

We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Technical Designer will be responsible for consolidating the bridges between game design, level design, and programming. Part of the features and systems validation process, you will anticipate and support their whole development, for all production steps:  In close partnership with the designers, you will use your strong expertise to request or create prototyping levers, build gyms and maintain them for quick iterative prototypes for new features. You will work with the Technical Level Design Director in order to establish clear guidelines and rational level design rules for best usage of our features and systems in game. You will also coordinate, create and maintain effective in-game tools and debug tools for designers.

Reporting

The Senior Technical Designer will report to a producer.

 Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and maintain in-game tools and debug tools for designers.

  • Work closely with the programming team to enhance existing tools and create new ones.

  •  In parallel with the features and systems development, build a solid rational level design checklist and communicate technical requirements to the level design team to ensure the best in-game experience.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to designers as they work hands-on within the game engine. Communicate clear guidelines and instructions on best practices.

  • Act as a bridge between the design team and the engineering team to ensure the tools and engine developments support the game design needs.

  • Elaborate and develop data validation strategies (reports, automated testing, etc.)

  • Optimization for systems and features.

Experience and skills required

  • 5+ years of experience  in related jobs

  • Strong comprehension of modern engine level design and debugging tools

  • Good understanding of relationship between level design, game design and gameplay

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong expertise of UE5

  • Experience working on a GAAS

  • Understanding of game design principles, theories and their correlation with player experience and satisfaction.

  • Programming and/or scripting skills (python, blueprint, etc.)
