OCP is Looking for a VFX Artist (Senior or Above)

As a Senior VFX Artist at OCP, your day-to-day involves both the creative and technical teams and touches aspects of tools development, FX, and optimization. With our growing art team, you’re driving the creation and vision of the studio's expressive games and technology. Based on your experience, you love enhancing the look and feel of gameplay through visual effects and tools that improve the lives of creators and players. You love to upgrade the capabilities of the tech and the team. It’s possible you’ve already developed a real-time feature or tool that we use and care about.

For this role, we’re open to candidates who are at a Senior level or above (e.g., Staff or Principal).

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee the quality of the VFX work and pipeline, and set the bar for excellence, maintaining art quality and pipeline standards for VFX
  • Create beautiful visual effects that capture the style of natural elements in an idealized manner and communicate to the player game-related information utilizing fundamentals like timing, shape language, color theory, and mesh engineering
  • Communicate with Art Director to ensure art adheres to project specifications
  • Work with the technical team developing tools for VFX creation within our platform
  • Drive the development of Style Guides and Process Guides for VFX
  • Help design and implement systems to incorporate game-ready VFX that add atmosphere and depth to the gameplay
  • Find a balance between gameplay impact and player states while maintaining the player's visual clarity
  • Tenaciously pursue creative and effective solutions

Need to Have:

  • Development experience with Unreal Engine 5, Niagara
  • Advanced technical knowledge to create high-quality, real-time game VFX
  • Intimate understanding of asset production to better help find technical solutions for tool and pipeline implementation and real-time editing
  • Clear understanding of VFX art fundamentals, as demonstrated through your portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish your mission both as part of a team and with complete autonomy if needed
  • Self-motivated and growth-minded
  • Strong communication skills, experience following feedback and giving advice on approaches, tools, techniques, and feedback
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
