Position Details
We are seeking 1–2 experienced Technical Unity Animators who will animate and integrate humanoid and animal-like 3D characters in Unity. Estimated project duration is 3–5 months, with potential post-launch work for improvements and expansions.
Responsibilities
Animate rigged 3D characters (humanoid and animal variants) using Maya, Blender, or similar.
Integrate animations into Unity’s Animation Controller and Mecanim system.
Collaborate with our lead developer to implement and refine combat animations, including melee, special attacks, and super attacks.
Ensure seamless transitions (e.g., idle → walk → run → dodge → attack) in an omni-directional fighting environment.
Work alongside the design team to translate game mechanics (dodges, blocks, stance breaks) into responsive animations.
Optimize animations for mobile performance while preserving high visual quality.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in 3D animation for games.
Proficiency with Unity 3D mechanics and the Unity Animation Controller (Mecanim).
Basic or intermediate C# scripting for improving animator workflows.
Hands-on experience animating melee combat and omni-directional movement.
Strong knowledge of inverse kinematics and advanced animation techniques.
Familiarity with mobile optimization constraints and best practices.
Understanding of teamwork in a remote/distributed environment.
Proven track record on at least one released mobile or console/PC title involving advanced animations.
Optional Skills (At Least One Required)
Experience with Unity VFX or particle effects for fighting game impacts and special attacks.
Capable of 3D model rigging or re-rigging for custom skeletons.
Knowledge of PlayFab or other backend services for integrated animation events.
Experience with Blender, Maya, or other professional 3D tools.
