As a Strategic Account Executive in the Energy sector at Microsoft, you will drive digital transformation and build strategic partnerships with major energy companies. Leveraging your energy sector expertise, you'll deliver innovative solutions, manage complex global accounts, and prioritize resource allocation to meet evolving customer needs. You'll collaborate with internal teams and industry experts to design long-term transformation strategies, acting as a trusted advisor who delivers compelling value propositions and identifies upselling/cross-selling opportunities. You'll build and execute account plans ensuring high-value outcomes for Microsoft and its clients. This role requires executive-level engagement, identifying and closing opportunities, and building strong relationships with C-level decision-makers. Responsibilities include building account plans across Microsoft solution areas (Modern Workplace, Business Apps, etc.), fostering client-Microsoft collaboration, and coaching teams to deliver results.

Overview

As a Global Account Executive in the Energy sector, you will play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation and fostering strategic partnerships with some of the largest Energy companies in the region. Your knowledge of the energy sector, its market dynamics and the customer needs within it, will enable you to deliver innovative solutions that align with client priorities and creates measurable business value.  

You will enhance your leadership and orchestration skills as you manage complex global accounts, oversee planning and prioritisation to address evolving customer needs, and strategically guide resource allocation. Through collaboration with internal teams and industry experts, you will design and promote long-term, mutually beneficial transformation strategies. Additionally, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering compelling value propositions, crafting specialised business plans, and identifying opportunities to expand engagements through upselling and cross-selling initiatives. 

By proactively developing a comprehensive understanding of each client’s goals, industry direction, and competitive landscape, you will lead the creation and execution of account plans that ensure high-value outcomes for both Microsoft and its customers.

Qualifications

Your ability to navigate and influence at the executive level, combined with industry expertise, will enable you to develop and execute strategies that drive customer success and business growth. Some of the other key skills and experience you will have include: 

  • A demonstrable consulting, account management or sales background
  • Proven experience with customers in the Energy or Utilities sector
  • Experience working with, and leading, virtual teams across multiple geographic locations and domains.
  • Strong relationship skills working with C-level, business decision makers. 
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business, Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience working in an industry 

 

Responsibilities

The Strategic Account Executive is one where you regularly interface with executives both internally and externally, and where your adeptness at identifying, qualifying and closing opportunities will be paramount.  

Some of your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Building trusted relationships through engagements focused on driving the customer’s desired business outcomes using Microsoft technologies  
  • Leveraging insights and trends from across the industry to anticipate new growth opportunities for the customer and Microsoft by way of new market opportunities, innovative solutions and new service modes. 
  • Building, owning and orchestrating, dynamic, relevant business and account plans detailing critical insights, new business opportunities, technology strategy and operating model aligned to customer priorities and each of Microsoft’s solution areas (Modern Workplace, Business Apps, Apps and Infrastructure, Data and AI) 
  • Building and growing a coalition of support between the client (IT, Business and Executives) and Microsoft business leaders to act as one in partnering together. 
  • Coaching teams and setting clear vision, with a strong sense of purpose and clear accountabilities to deliver results.
