Position Summary

As a QA Manager I, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Quality Assurance team, leveraging your extensive experience and expertise in QA practices. Renowned for your ability to drive testing excellence and possessing deep knowledge of QA methodologies, your mission will be to orchestrate the delivery of the highest quality and reliability for AccelByte's products. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, a proven track record in QA, and the ability to shape and execute a strategic QA vision. You will mentor and guide a team of QA specialists, influence company-wide quality objectives, and spearhead continuous process improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

The QA Manager I is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of QA Specialists in the development and execution of test strategies, encompassing risk analysis, resource allocation, and comprehensive test coverage.
  • Oversee and direct the execution of sophisticated testing activities for large-scale projects, taking charge of test planning, execution, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Advocate for advanced testing methods/practices and emphasize implementation of automation testing wherever possible to streamline testing processes, improve efficiency, and increase test coverage.
  • Establish, manage, and continually refine key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics, consistently measuring and reporting on product quality to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the entire defect lifecycle, ensuring swift and precise defect identification, exhaustive reporting, efficient resolution, and comprehensive validation.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to align on quality objectives, strategies, and priorities, exerting a profound influence on project success.
  • Lead the evaluation and optimization of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices, actively guiding their implementation and evolution within the team.
  • Act as a mentor and educator, nurturing the professional growth of the QA team members, fostering a culture of quality excellence, and ensuring their ongoing development.
  • Provide constant feedback to the QA members by having the regular 1o1s and set goals for their career development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Bachelors or relevant work experience or certification/courses.
  • At least 5 years of previous management experience, including teams of 5+.
  • Advanced experience in test automation, including scripting and framework development, setting the standard for automation excellence.
  • Advanced experience in QA methodologies, management tools, and best practices, refined through years of practical experience.
  • Advanced experience in project management (strategic thinking, decision-making, growth mindset, conflict resolution, feedback, etc).
  • Experience with cloud platforms or web products is a significant advantage, providing a broader perspective on product quality.
  • Experience in a multinational technology startup or AAA game studio is highly valued, offering valuable insights into the QA landscape and gaming industry standards.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, serving as a guiding light in navigating complex testing challenges.
  • A proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams, fostering harmonious cooperation.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language.
  • Flexibility to adjust to work routines/schedules.
