Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience in the Cloud space and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of programming language (e.g., Go).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining Engineering Productivity (EngProd) tools for GKE, encompassing both on-premises and cloud deployments. Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers, building a high-performing and diverse team.
  • Drive technical excellence through technical reviews, mentoring, and promoting best practices in software development. Partner with other GKE teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment across the entire GKE ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with internal customers to translate product goals into technically feasible solutions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging data-driven iteration and innovation within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting technical plans, progress updates, and potential issues with clarity and transparency.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud-native solutions and Kubernetes management.
