Position Overview

We are looking for two Senior Software QA Developers to join our Autodesk's Entertainment & Media Solutions to help us automate a lot of scripts.

Autodesk's Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS) team is on a mission to enable anyone, anywhere, to create incredible digital entertainment. Our tools empower studios and artists worldwide to bring to life the captivating creatures, immersive worlds, and compelling characters seen in the games, shows, and movies we enjoy daily.

Autodesk is building Flow, the industry cloud that connects people, workflows, and data across the entire Entertainment & Media production lifecycle from earliest concept to final delivery. We are looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment, relishes working at scale and is ready to be part of a high-performing team. As part of the Flow frontend team, you will be testing SDKs and UIs that connect Flow to various DCCs.

You will perform about 80% manual testing and 20% automation testing with the goal to achieve the results of the reserve within a year.
 

Responsibilities

- Testing and Validation

  • Conduct thorough testing of new features, enhancements, and fixes for the product.

  • Create and execute test cases based on specifications and user scenarios in DCCs like Maya and Houdini

  • Perform regression testing to ensure previously developed and tested software still performs after a change.

  • Verify bug fixes and track issues to closure.

- Automation

  • Write and modify automated tests in Typescript (Cypress) and/or in Python

- Documentation and Reporting

  • Document test cases, procedures, and results thoroughly.

  • Report defects accurately with clear steps to reproduce.

  • Provide clear and concise feedback to development teams.

- Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to understand project requirements.

  • Participate actively in design and code reviews to provide quality perspective.

  • Communicate effectively across teams to ensure a smooth testing process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven QA engineering experience with 5+ years in a QA engineering role

  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Entertainment & Media industries

  • Experience with DCCs (like Maya or Houdini)

  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines

  • Documenter minutieusement les cas de test, les procédures et les résultats

  • Rapporter les défauts de manière précise avec des étapes claires pour les reproduire

  • Fournir un retour d'information clair et concis aux équipes de développement

- Collaboration

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les développeurs, les concepteurs et les gestionnaires de produits pour comprendre les exigences du projet

  • Participer activement aux revues de conception et de code afin d'apporter un point de vue sur la qualité

  • Communiquer efficacement avec les autres équipes pour assurer un processus de test harmonieux

Qualifications minimales

  • Expérience confirmée en ingénierie QA avec 5 ans ou plus dans un rôle d'ingénierie QA

  • Excellentes compétences en communication
     

Qualifications préférées

  • Expérience dans l'industrie du divertissement et des médias

  • Expérience avec les DCC (comme Maya ou Houdini)

  • Expérience avec les pipelines Jenkins

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $79,500 and $116,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
