The purpose of this role is to provide support to the senior team, taking responsibility for all administrative tasks within the team to ensure campaigns run smoothly and to plan.

Job Description:

The Senior Media Planner is to provide day-to-day focal point to the account. He/she is expected to have day-to-day responsibility for assigned accounts and is expected to have an understanding of the client’s overall business and marketing objectives. He/she is the steward of the integrated planning process and provides mid-level strategic recommendations to the senior media team and/or client. He/she is expected to have a strong working knowledge of media and research. He/she is expected to be an active participant on the business; consistently engaging and contributing ideas and insights that benefit our business/clients.
Requirements

  • Media Planning and Execution:

  • Aids in the creation of client media objectives and strategies.

  • Creates and maintains media plan flowcharts and media buy authorizations based on clients’ various initiatives.

  • Maintains media budgets or media spend summaries.

  • Keep abreast of all invoice, billing and delivery issues; know when to escalate discrepancies to supervisors.

  • Writes POVs as needed and evaluate media types / outlets.

  • Compiles reports of competitive market/media information for each brand/category.

  • Manage added value / merchandising components of media buys.

  • Meet with media reps and coordinate with other Carat specialty units as required.

  • Work with internal finance & client to proceed billing & related paperwork.

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Manage day-to-day client interaction.
  • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables.
  • Assist Manager in advising clients on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs.
  • Assist Manager in growing business opportunities within current clients.
  • Keeps up with the latest trends in media.
  • May be responsible for informing team/client of new opportunities or issues.
  • Participates and leads, if appropriate, face to face client and vendor meetings.
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for assistant level.
  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner.
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate.
  • Provide guidance to team members nurture/promote team environment.
  • Assist in the training of junior team members.
  • May be responsible for working with Manager to develop and oversee junior staff- manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budge.
  • May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents.
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them.

Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications.
  • Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner.
  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially.
  • Assists in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs, as needed.
  • Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive.
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.

Qualifications:

  • University graduate.

  • Minimum 2 years of integrated media planning/ buying experience.

  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt plans due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to relate results to client business objectives.
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively.
  • Media vendor negotiation experience.
  • Well organized multi-tasker able to work independently.
  • Good English and interpersonal communication, secondary language skills a plus.
  • Good Team player.
  • Detail-minded and able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work with numbers.
  • Good PC skills, especially excel and PowerPoint.

The ideal planner should be well versed in the following tools:

  • Google Ad Words.
  • Facebook Power Editor.
  • Double-click Tag Manager.
  • Google Analytics.
