Job Summary:

The Part-time Social Media Producer is a key member of the ABC News Studios team, responsible for producing and presenting ABC News Studios content across all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). 

About the Role & Team:

This candidate will work with the various production teams at ABC News Studios, both in house and out of house, to produce and post content across social pages. They will create a social toolkit for each and every Studios project to distribute to marketing, PR and talent teams, consisting of assets and suggested language for social.

The producer will work very closely with the marketing and PR teams to post trailers for projects, and work together on the marketing plan for each project, including posting schedule for teaser clips for each project.

The producer will be responsible for coming up with social-first ideas, when relevant, for projects, including explainer Reels videos, explainer graphics and more.

This producer will create and maintain best practices that grow total audience engagement, and merge social and digital content together in a cohesive manner. They should be well versed in how to leverage social analytics to make data-driven decisions in both production and publishing strategies.

The producer will be responsible for writing headlines and captions for each of the trailer videos produced for each project to live on ABCNews.com, in collaboration with the PR and marketing teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

The role requires expertise using Canva and Adobe Premiere. Experience with DashHudson is a plus. Experience making decks/presentations and presenting is a plus.

The candidate will be working with various production teams on different projects, so should be well-versed in working on multiple projects at once and liasioning with different facets of the business. They must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating impeccable judgment and social acumen. They will be collaborating with many different teams, so should be comfortable working independently to ensure they communicate effectively across teams.


The hiring range for this position in New York is $80,000 to $99,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
