As a Senior Concept Art Outsource Manager, you'll collaborate with internal and external teams to produce high-quality character and weapon art for their first game. You will work closely with art leadership and production to ensure assets meet quality, direction, and schedule requirements. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of character and weapon design.

As a Senior Concept Art Outsource Manager, you will partner closely with our internal art team to align on thematics and references, while communicating with external outsource vendors to provide guidance and feedback around best in class art for our first game. You will be focusing predominantly on character and weapon based art, so having deep knowledge and passion in both areas is critical to this role. In addition, you will be supporting various outsourcing efforts, including marketing art and other forms of cosmetics used throughout the game. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to help progress our new IP and work with amazing people in a highly collaborative, highly creative and engaging environment.

Responsibilities

    • Generate and gather detailed documentation, references, example art assets, production procedures, and gameplay requirements to support external artists.
    • Review assets submitted by our outsourcing partners, according to project needs and requirements.
    • Collaborate with art leadership and the production department to ensure that the assets stay on target, from a quality, direction, and schedule point of view.
    • Provide paintovers and callouts to the outsource artists to help align their concepts to our new universe.
    • Clearly communicate feedback to external artists and teams.
    • Foster long-term relationships with outsource partners to build trust, passion, and craft excellence in best practices and techniques.

Requirements

    • 5+ years experience as a Concept Artist with at least 2 years as an outsource manager, leading/guiding artists through the concept art workflow.
    • Experience as a Concept artist focusing on character and weapon concepts.
    • Clear and concise communication, leadership, and people skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to align art outsourcing activities with internal project milestones and deadlines.
    • An eye for the nuances within particular art styles and the components that make them cohesive and unique.
    • A strong portfolio showcasing character and weapon concepts and paintover examples demonstrating your feedback process.
Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries, an annual bonus, and royalties. For this specific role, the base salary range is $130,000 to $170,000 (USD) with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
