The Opportunity: 

Mattel is seeking a Sample Maker to join the Soft Goods Team. This group is focused on supporting the creation of new product opportunities by understanding the consumer and trends that are then translated into successful products. This team supports the design and development cross-functional teams with 2D and/or 3D models. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work on challenging and fun products as well as ideating new concepts with partners.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

• Actively support new fashion designs to enhance the brand.
• Execute on Product Design’s direction.
• Ideate with Designers to create simple to complex soft goods designs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Expertise in operating various sewing machines, including industrial machines, and hand-sewing techniques
• Ability to sew low to medium complexity 3D models
• Precisely cuts fabric according to patterns
• Understanding of pattern drafting and alterations to create accurate garment patterns
• Works closely with pattern makers to communicate feedback on samples and make necessary adjustments
• Knowledge of fabric and its properties
• Knowledge of pattern making
• Basic computer skills with MS Office
• Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The base hourly rate for this position is between $23,40 and $29,25.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
