Job Description

As a QA Analyst at Epic Games, you'll be a key stakeholder in the Level Design, Modeling, and World Creation aspects of the Unreal Engine. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and producers, owning the evaluation and planning of testing efforts. Responsibilities include defining acceptance criteria, identifying risks, coordinating automated and manual testing, building test strategies and plans, tracking quality data, and reporting on test efforts. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software testing experience in a fast-paced environment, a solid understanding of test methodologies, and experience with functional and usability testing. Experience with game engines or 3D software toolsets (UE4/5 a plus) is highly beneficial. You will need to be adept at juggling multiple projects and working in an Agile environment.

What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

We are seeking a QA Analyst to act as a QA stakeholder in the Level Design, Modeling and World Creation space of the Unreal Engine. You will be working directly with our Designers, Engineers, and Producers on this project as an area owner, overseeing the evaluation and planning of testing, allocating your time between deep investigations and reporting on test efforts for your area to drive the quality bar of your embedded space. We are a creative group within a large dynamic organization that prizes intelligence, creativity, and nimble problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with game QA or game engine QA experience and has a passion for innovating and improving upon the Project and Product Quality Assurance Process. To be set up for success, a person in this role should have experience with end-to-end feature ownership and risk assessment while being flexible in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will

  • Work with UE developers, producers, and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features/releases
  • Coordinate automated, functional, qualitative, and performance testing efforts
  • Build test strategies and test plans to cover multiple features in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Use a mix of manual and technical testing skills to execute a variety of testing techniques across your product to analyze the quality of said product
  • Track and Report on quality data, and utilize that data to drive conversations around product quality and development heal

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of software testing experience in a fast paced environment
  • Solid understanding of test methodologies and iterative development
  • Experience in functional and usability testing in your domain of expertise
  • Ability to thrive while working in a fast-paced working environment, with the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Knowledge in one or more of these areas: Game Engines or 3D Software toolsets (UE4/5 game engine experience a plus), Modeling, Level Design and/or World Creation toolsets, Agile/Reactive test strategies
