Job Description

Tesla seeks a Project Developer/Business Developer for EV charging in the Western Balkans (based in Zagreb). Responsibilities include identifying and acquiring Supercharger locations, conducting site assessments, negotiating leases, developing regional strategies, facilitating project handovers to construction, monitoring tenders, developing key accounts, and staying updated on market trends. The role requires strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications and CRM software, and extensive travel (3-4 days/week).
Must have:
  • 5+ years commercial/business development experience
  • Real estate, charging, or renewable energy industry knowledge
  • Development process expertise (permitting, contractor selection)
  • Entrepreneurial and data-driven mindset
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English and Croatian

As the expansion of our charging infrastructure continues to grow, we are now hiring a Project Developer to continue to develop the Supercharging network by finding and acquiring the best locations for our Superchargers in the Western Balkan Region. In your day-to-day activities you will work on market research, business analysis, development of new business propositions, prospecting potential site hosts, pitching our proposition, negotiating, and closing deals. 

What You’ll Do
  • Identify and acquire potential Supercharging locations by connecting with site hosts and presenting our Supercharging proposition
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of potential locations, considering urbanistic status and power availability
  • Review lease contracts and manage negotiations to secure suitable locations.
  • Develop a robust strategy for the Supercharging network in the region (Western Balkan), ensuring an exceptional customer experience
  • Facilitate smooth handover of projects to the construction department, providing support until site commissioning
  • Monitor tenders in the charging industry and participate in offer proposals
  • Identify and develop key accounts for potential multi-site partnerships
  • Stay up-to-date of market conditions, business trends, and news relevant to the charging industry
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a commercial/business development role in real estate, charging or renewable energy industry
  • Knowledgeable in all facets of the development process, including permitting, contractor selection and construction implementation
  • Entrepreneurial and data-driven mindset with ability to find and act on opportunities
  • Ability to manage 15+ projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and familiarity with CRM software
  • Willingness to travel extensively on a regular basis (3-4 days per week on average including overnight stays)
  • A Valid Driver's License 
  • Fluency in English and Croatian is necessary as English is the primarily language within the company
