Job Description

As a Principal Architect, you will lead cross-functional teams to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies. You will lead conversations and direct the execution of the Sales team by combining both technical direction and business insight. You will partner with Value Engineering to articulate the value of each technical solution and the overall business partnership with Google Cloud. Responsibilities include building trusted advisory relationships with accounts, engaging with technical and executive stakeholders, providing domain expertise on public cloud and enterprise technology, making recommendations on integration strategies, managing enterprise architecture relationships with customers, and traveling up to 50% for customer visits and conferences. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing, enterprise architecture, and the Retail and e-Commerce industries.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
10+ years enterprise architecture experience
Cloud computing experience across applications, infrastructure, data
Experience presenting to technical and executive stakeholders
Lead cross-functional teams for cloud strategy implementation

Good to have:

Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and on-premise-to-cloud migrations
Enterprise technology buying and evaluation process understanding
Experience building distributed global cloud-based systems
Retail and e-Commerce industry experience
Ability to drive and influence audiences

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
Experience in enterprise technology buying and evaluation process paired with an understanding of large-scale computing solutions and experience in building, architecting, designing and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
Experience in, or supporting the Retail and e-Commerce industries.
Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally to position and orchestrate a solution consisting of multiple products.
Ability to drive and influence audiences and identify expansion engagements within accounts.

Responsibilities

Build a trusted advisory relationship with tactical accounts and engage with Architects, VP Engineering, CTO and CIO, and identify customer priorities, technical objections and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem to deliver business value and resolve blockers.
Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.
Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution while providing best practices to customers to optimize Google Cloud efficiency.
Manage the enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, technical teams, and more.
Travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
