Description

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications. Shift premium is available for this position.

Allied is currently looking for an individual to finish grind drill insert thickness.

Hours: 5:00am - 5:00pm (working 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on - every other weekend)
Permanent Shift: A Crew
Training Shift: C Crew
Location: 120 Deeds Dr. Dover, OH

Requirements


  • Set-up and run production (thickness grinding of high-speed steel and carbide blades)
  • Inspect print dimensions using digital indicator stand
  • Inspect parts for taper using digital indicator stand
  • Change grinding wheels and truing wheels as required
  • Wash parts
  • Communicate application/operation problems to department leaders, and assist in testing/problem solving
  • Inspect ground surfaces for size and flatness specifications
  • Plan flow of product through the cell to keep machines running and to maintain hitting the due dates
  • Must be able to access all on-line work instructions and Charts.
  • Observe and report all areas that need addressed.
  • Maintain a high quality level as well as a high rate of efficiency.
  • Correct reporting of job transactions.
  • Fill out NCR for blades that do not meet our quality standards
  • Follow inspection plan
  • Proper use and care of micrometers and calipers.
  • Read and understand blueprints.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent


Experience:

  • Working knowledge of finish grinding operations / preferred
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicator gauges / preferred


Skills:

  • Good math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication
  • Detail oriented, good planning and organizational skills.
  • Good manual dexterity


Minimum Requirements:

  • Able to lift 32 Lbs.
  • Able to be on feet for 12 hours with continuous movement.
