Job Description

Sperasoft is seeking a Material Artist specializing in stylization to create high-quality materials and textures for a stylized project. Responsibilities include producing materials using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, ZBrush, or other DCC software; collaborating with the Lead, Art Director, and Level Artists to ensure artistic direction, technical compatibility, and efficient workflow; maintaining material library integrity; setting up materials within the game engine; and researching and implementing industry trends. The ideal candidate possesses deep Substance Designer knowledge, PBR understanding, proficiency with Maya or similar software, Megascans experience, and excellent communication and mentoring abilities. The role requires creating materials across various styles and themes and demonstrating a strong understanding of material optimization for real-time engines. At least one shipped title is required.
Must have:
  • Proficient in Substance Designer & Painter
  • PBR & Material Standards Knowledge
  • Maya or similar DCC experience
  • Megascans familiarity
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:

Description

Sperasoft is hiring a Material Artist for stylized project for creating high-quality materials and textures, using our technical requirements, adapt textures from stock repositories such as Megascans to our pipelines, collaborating with the team to ensure technical compatibility, cohesive and visually appealing designs.

If you are passionate about materials creation, creating visually stunning assets and capable of understanding and following technical requirements and pipelines, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

Produce outstanding materials using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, ZBrush or DCC of your choice.

Work with the Lead and Art Director to ensure that materials match Art Direction, style, setting and target quality

Work closely with Level Artists to make materials that will be convenient for them to use.

Maintain integrity and uniformity of material library.

Setup materials in the engine and ensure they work correct and blend properly.

Be independent, do research and implement the latest industry trends and techniques.

Picking the right software for the job without focusing on Substance Designer specifically.

Requirements

  • Deep & highly proficient knowledge of Substance Designer
  • Knowledge of PBR and physically based material standards
  • High proficiency with Maya or similar
  • Experience with Megascans
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
  • Autonomy and independence
  • Good eye for appropriate stylization and detail
  • Able to produce materials in a wide variety of styles and themes
  • At least one shipped title within the industry
  • Knowledge of material optimization for real time engines
  • Knowledge about material blending systems
