Job Description

The Data Analyst is responsible for uncovering data-driven insights that enable Trek to better understand their end-consumers and take action that will have a positive impact on the business. The analyst will receive direction from key contacts within the Trek organization.  Asks will include gathering, organizing and/or aggregating large sets of data in order to produce meaningful business insights in areas such as consumer behavior and purchase patterns, marketing effectiveness, and product offerings. The person will also collaborate with senior leaders and team members in assessing, identifying and developing new analytic opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze various marketing and consumer data sets and report on findings
  • Provide input on the structure and format of data from various sources
  • Assess existing data for quality and accuracy. Clean the data as needed to ensure insights and key takeaways are accurate
  • Recognize patterns in data and organize based on Marketing team’s needs and direction
  • Utilize various data analytics tools daily to perform analysis. Proactively probe data, ask questions, seek clarity
  • Document findings via written reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with people from Trek HQ in Waterloo and across the globe.  Participate in meetings to discuss key findings from the data. Generate recommended actions based on findings

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working with large data sets. 
  • Proficient with SQL and data visualization.  Experience with Data Bricks and Power Bi preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to translate insight into actions. Experience developing insights across various areas of customer related data.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills that enable you to explain complex insights with clarity and precision to executive management and business partners
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Proficiency with data structures
  • Demonstrated ability to take action based on data
  • Willingness to learn and a curious nature
  • Solid business acumen
  • Able to collaborate with others and develop relationships within the organization
