Position Overview:

 

The Management Accountant is a crucial role responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information to support business decisions. This position involves managing financial records, performing month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

 

What you’ll do as the Management Accountant:

 

Employees employed in the role of Management Accountant shall be required to apply their independent mind and demonstrate intellectual abilities in their decision-making.

  • Preparation of month-end and yearly management accounts, including comprehensive Profit &             
  • Loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Perform month-end close activities, variance analysis, exception reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and provide insightful commentary.
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals such as depreciations, aged stock provisions, reallocations, and accruals related to accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring corrections of errors as part of the month-end process while adhering to the matching and prudence concepts of accounting.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure its reconciliation with management accounts.
  • Oversee the Prepaid Schedule, ensuring it reconciles with management accounts and that prepayments are accurately released to the Profit & Loss statement.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit process, providing requested information to auditors in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Account Directors and Sales Teams, calculating adjustments for aged stock provisions to be charged against commissions.
  • Present overall inventory levels for designated entities during weekly management reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven experience as a management accountant, accounting supervisor, or in a similar role.
  • ACCA qualified, ACMA, CA finalist, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues promptly.
  • Capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and providing financial guidance.
  • Efficient in managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
