NXP C&S (Connectivity & Security) Business Line is looking for a Senior Digital Validation Engineer, based in our Gratkorn (Austria) R&D site.

This role is part of the Digital HW/SoC (System on Chip) Development Unit, distributed over more NXP sites in Europe, America and Asia, that operates within the SET (Secure Embedded Transactions) Product Line to provide high demanding market-lead customers with secure payment and identification solutions for the Mobile, Infrastructure and IoT market areas.

The Digital NFC Modem Group based in Gratkorn is responsible to deliver very high quality solutions for NFC RF Communications. The Team is involved in all aspects of the Digital Design Flow, from Specifications to Tape-Out, including validation, production enablement and customer support.

Your responsibilities:

  • Analyze system requirements and design specifications of the functional area of the SoC under test assigned to you;
  • Discuss together with the design and verification team a suitable validation strategy, the relative test-scenarios, required HW and SW, and the pass/fail criteria.
  • Write tests specifications and get them reviewed by your team lead and the design team. Define an execution plan and estimate the effort of each step.
  • Prepare the test environment, creating or updating new or existing test infrastructure, test-benches and validation configurations;
  • Code and execute the planned test-cases and report the outcome;
  • Interact with your peers, designers and architects for a quick analysis and resolution of all bugs found and support requests.
  • Document the validation activity with a final report, including a Faults root-cause Analysis;
  • Maintain and develop the validation environment across the different projects, proposing improvements to both the methodology, ways of working, team praxis and tool-chain;
  • Keep yourself updated with latest validation methodology and tools by following courses, seminars, webinars and literature.

Your profile:

  • University Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent;
  • Proficient in lab instrumentation for analog and digital measurements. Experience in automated testing methodologies is a plus;
  • Understanding of major RFID/NFC and similar industry Standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency with programming languages used for validation testcases development: bash/tcsh, Python and C/C#;
  • Knowledge of Centralized Version Control Systems (e.g. SVN, GIT, Clearcase);
  • Very good spoken and written English skills.

Extra Qualifications (Plus)

  • Familiarity with ASIC / SoC design flow and process;
  • Good knowledge of SW Engineering & Systems Development Lifecycle;
  • Any qualification in testing methodologies and/or data analysis (e.g. Six-Sigma);
  • Knowledge of Verilog and System Verilog languages (VHDL is a plus) and simulation tools;
  • Knowledge of DSP Theory, Design and Verification techniques;
  • Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink modeling environment.

Contract: This is a fulltime OR parttime position (80%) with a permanent contract.
