As Engineering Manager - Player Experience, you'll lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams, ensuring successful product delivery. Responsibilities include project management, technical leadership, people management, and collaboration with Product Management and other engineering teams. You'll influence technology stack choices, maintain technical standards, drive software delivery to high quality, define team roles, and collaborate with stakeholders. You'll also recruit and onboard talent, promote best practices, and contribute to company-wide initiatives. The role requires strong technical skills, leadership experience, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Your mission

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of our products by leading, mentoring, and managing high-performing engineering teams. You will be collaborating with other Engineering teams. You will work together with Product Management, being responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, technical leadership, and people management. Your role will ensure that the team not only meets its goals but also thrives in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. You will embody and promote our core values and vision, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain high-performing teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsible for creating an environment where team members can excel and deliver their best work.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Help and support team members to define their goals for their career development.
  • Keep the team engaged and motivated. You'll act as the first responder to resolve issues, ensuring that interpersonal conflicts are managed constructively and do not impact team performance.
  • Serve as a role model for mentorship, proactively seeking out and mentoring team members.
  • Help the the architecture team with the design and architecture of systems. You will influence the choice of technology stack, and ensure that technical standards and best practices are maintained.
  • Drive software delivery to the highest quality standards focusing on business value by effectively managing project timelines, resources, and priorities. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the team, ensuring that everyone knows what they need to do and when. You'll work with both technical and non-technical peers to negotiate and align on project requirements and timelines.
  • Understanding how systems work at a whole picture level, being able to explain and support technical decisions representing engineering team with stakeholders and non-technical people.
  • Collaborate with the product team so requirements are converted into actionable tasks for the engineering team, ensuring that the product vision is clearly communicated and executed.
  • Own the status of projects, potential roadblocks, and resource needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that engineering efforts are aligned with overall company goals.
  • Identify the skills and experience needed within the team, work with Talent team to recruit top talent, and conduct interviews to ensure candidates meet the team's standards. You'll be responsible for making sure that the hiring process is efficient and the same standards are followed.
  • Promotion and deep understanding of best practices in our teams, ensuring that important aspects of the SDLC are followed to produce high-quality working and maintainable software.
  • Regular contributor to company-wide initiatives, events and activities, participating in them and encouraging team members to do so.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performance engineering teams. You have a track record of building teams that excel and deliver exceptional results.
  • Understanding of system design, architecture, and hands-on technical experience. You are capable of making informed decisions about technology and guiding the team in the right direction.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects. You can work with multiple priorities and ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can effectively manage team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Show initiative promoting a culture of continuous learning by encouraging and supporting team members in their development growth.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they escalate. You are able to maintain team harmony and ensuring that minor issues do not become major problems.
