About the Team The Datacenter Infrastructure Engineering team supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyperscale datacenters. The team manages the end to end lifecycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions and various infrastructure services ensuring that they are scalable and are reliable. About the Role The team is looking for candidates with strong technical infrastructure backgrounds, passionate about engineering excellence, and providing effective and sustainable solutions with an eye to the future. You understand the challenges associated with deploying infrastructure at scale and have experience in designing systems and platforms that set the global standard for performance, availability, security, and cost. The work you do will influence processes globally. Responsibilities • To Participate and Review Data Center MEP Design and other necessary disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fitouts • Create data hall layout plans and perform test fits to validate server capacity plans and failover calculations • Participate in Testing and Commissioning Discussions to determine required tests to verify design elements. • Support the DC Engineering FM team to become a Subject Matter Expert and understand how to overcome design limitations and risks. • Conduct a periodic Audit or Assessment to access the effectiveness and practicality of the design in-use on our data centers • Be our ambassador to explain data center infrastructure design to visitors • To continually find ways to collaborate and break new ground to enhance MEP design to meet future needs. • Continually maintain positive and collaborative working relations with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline. • Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations necessary to determine capacity requirements (i.e., TIA-942, ASHRAE) • Understand Power Redundancy and how it is implemented in design (i.e., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant) • Experience with Cooling Redundancy and how Concurrent Maintainability is implemented in design (i.e, N+1 or N+2). • Experience in the following areas: - Lead or influence a Design and Architect team to complete Data Center Conceptual>30%>60%>90% Detailed Design Process. - Practice Data Center Tiering Standards (i.e., TIA-942 Rated 3, or Uptime Tier 3) in a detailed design process. - Lead or influence a construction team to complete Data Hall fit-out experience, including IT services Coordination, Power and Cooling Planning. - Lead or influence a testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate the system design intent and resolve technical problems along the way. • Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, etc. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
