Nielsen is seeking an organized, detail oriented, team player to join the ITAM Client Engineering team in the role of Client Engineer.  Nielsen’s Audience Measurement Engineering platforms support the measurement of television viewing in more than 30 countries around the world.  The Client Engineer role works across Nielsen’s Technology platforms and external clients to showcase Nielsen technology solutions as well as integrate them into our clients’ measurement solutions. 

This is a role which will directly interface with strategic internal and external clients in support of our International audience measurement products.  The International Client Engineering Associate (f/m) will join the the Client Engineering Team responsible for promoting Nielsen TAM Products to clients, educating and supporting clients and auditors during technology transitions, analyzing the competitive landscape, managing the troubleshooting of issues experienced by clients and helps driving Nielsen technology forward by exploring new opportunities in conjunction with the other teams.

Responsibilities:

    • Work with Product, Operations, Commercial and Technology teams to address client technology questions, issues and requirements.
    • Regularly enlisted to resolve technical issues for existing and future clients
    • Provide consultation on complex projects as a Subject Matter Expert and functions as a recognized technical expert in the suite of Nielsen products
    • Acts as technology evangelist
    • Contribute to the innovation and intellectual property creation within Engineering
    • Researches, assesses and facilitates the adoption of new technologies into the Nielsen product set
    • Investigates and analyzes verbal and written requests for product enhancements from clients and partners, and works across technology teams to propose conceptual solutions 
    • Recommends alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and / or procedures
    • Participates in technical design reviews 
    • Devises test strategies to identify product gaps, or confirm the absence of gaps
    • Contributes to the planning for acceptance testing and implementation of new solutions, performing support activities to ensure that customers have the information and assistance they need for a successful implementation 
    • Reviews technical supporting documentation, primarily for use by clients and partners
    • Provide Training, coaching, technical and business knowledge sharing to other members of the team
    • Design, plan and execute technology Tests and pilots
    • Execute Client Demonstrations of Nielsen technologies
    • Represent the Nielsen Technology team in internal and external audit processes  (preparation, negotiation,  execution, troubleshooting, presentation)

Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
    • Fluent in English

    • 5+ years equivalent work experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Television Audience Measurement crediting rules and best practices
    • Audio signature and watermarking technologies
    • People metering solutions
    • Managing Television Audience Measurement clients, specifically JIC’s (Joint Industry Committees
    • Testing and certification of Television Audience Measurement products with clients or independent auditors

    • Strong analytical skills and sense of technical creativity
    • Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
    • Resourceful, self-starter, and a team-player
    • Adaptability — a fast learner with a willingness to learn new technologies and tools to which you may have had little previous exposure.
    • Ability to communicate in English (conduct written and spoken daily conversations with English speakers from 30+ countries around the world)
    • A strong communicator with the ability to present highly technical information to a non-technical audience
    • Experience working as an engineer within the media industry (preferred)
    • Strong analytical and communication skills
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Knowledge of  Field operations
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous work projects
    • Availability for traveling abroad
