Join Our Team at Animal Company! Animal Company has quickly become a sensation since its launch in early July, surging to the top 10 on the Meta Quest in less than 2 months and amassing over half a million monthly active players. Our game offers a unique mix of horror, survival, and gorilla-style movement that captivates a diverse audience.
As a Game Environment/Level Designer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing captivating VR game environments and levels that are both visually stunning and functionally optimized for immersive gameplay. You will work closely with the art and game design teams to bring our virtual worlds to life, ensuring high levels of detail, interactivity, and performance. You will also create and optimize 3D models and assets that contribute to the overall aesthetic and feel of the game.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Build VR Game Levels: Create engaging, immersive levels tailored to virtual reality, with a strong emphasis on user experience, flow, and interactivity.
3D Modeling and Asset Creation: Build and optimize 3D models for environments, including props, terrain, architecture, and other level assets.
World Building: Use Unity to construct and implement environments in VR.
Optimization: Ensure that levels and assets are optimized for performance in VR, considering polycount, texture resolution, and draw calls.
Collaboration: Work closely with artists, game designers, and engineers to create cohesive and engaging levels.
Iteration and Feedback: Implement feedback from playtests and stakeholders to improve level design, gameplay mechanics, and overall visual aesthetics.
Lighting and Atmosphere: Apply appropriate lighting techniques and atmospheric effects to enhance immersion and gameplay experience.
Scripting and Interactivity: Implement basic scripting to add interactivity and gameplay elements within levels using game engine tools.
Testing and Debugging: Identify and resolve any design or technical issues related to environments and levels.
