TPG Studios is hiring a Camera Operator based in Hollywood, California. Your mission will be to work alongside our creative team to create epic gameplay footage!
Please note this position will begin as home-based / remote, but will require 100% on-site work starting in April 2025.
Summary: As a Game Capture Camera Operator, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality gameplay footage for various gaming platforms and productions. You will work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to ensure the captured footage meets the project's requirements and standards. This role requires technical proficiency in operating camera and recording equipment, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for gaming.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Operate game capture equipment, including cameras, recording software, and peripherals, to capture gameplay footage.
- Set up and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Follow shot lists and instructions to capture specific gameplay sequences, angles, and perspectives.
- Monitor gameplay sessions in real-time, adjusting camera settings and angles to capture the best shots.
- Maintain high attention to detail to ensure that captured footage meets technical specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Manage data storage and organization of captured footage for easy retrieval and editing.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in game capture and production techniques.
- Collaborate with editors and post-production teams to deliver final footage that meets project deadlines and requirements.
ABOUT YOU:
- 1+ years’ experience as a camera operator, preferably in game capture or related fields.
- Proficiency in operating game capture equipment, including cameras, capture cards, and recording software (e.g., OBS Studio, Elgato Game Capture).
- Strong understanding of gaming platforms, genres, and gameplay mechanics.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Technical knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of gaming culture and trends.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous work as a camera operator or related experience is highly desirable.
