Description

Hello and Kia Ora!

Start the game...

Entain Australia and New Zealand are committed to delivering outstanding and unforgettable customer experiences across the racing and wagering industry. Our Outside Broadcast fleet is responsible for filming live race day activities, playing a crucial role in the successful production of our visual content. We are now seeking a Camera Operator to join our Christchurch team on a part time basis.

Our Camera Operators are vital contributors to the success of our live race day activities. Their technical skills, proactive nature, and ability to work under varying conditions make our Camera Operators indispensable in the creation of our visual media. From day one, you'll be immersed in the dynamic and thrilling pace of the horseracing and broadcasting industry. You'll deliver thorough and high-quality outside broadcast camera coverage of NZ thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing, ensuring an exceptional broadcast which consistently enhances the customer experience.

Entain will proudly immerse you in the world of horseracing, sport, and wagering. Therefore we would like to ask that you please include a Cover Letter with your application, outlining your interest in this industry. This is your opportunity to showcase your interest in horseracing, sport, and wagering and to help give us insight into your enthusiasm and suitability for the role.

Where and how you can work...

We have offices across New Zealand and Australia, including Auckland, Wellington, and Hamilton. This position is based in Christchurch with a focus on field based work, where it all happens!

This is a part time position reaching approximately 40 hours per fortnight. However given how busy we can be over the Spring and Summer period you could be experiencing more opportunities to work. You'll need to be flexible across the week in line with team rosters and the racing calendar, including weekdays, weekends, some public holidays, and possible late nights.

Your day-to-day...

  • From our Christchurch base, you'll drive vehicles and equipment to and from race tracks.
  • Collaborate with the team to move equipment to the race track for events, and return once completed.
  • Assemble, prepare, set up, and test cameras and other equipment, ensuring communications are tested.
  • Efficiently report issues to the Director and/or technical staff and assist technical staff with resolving issues.
  • Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment at the conclusion of a race day, escalating equipment issues to the Technical team.
  • Follow camera instructions from the Director on framing shots and maneuvering the camera throughout the broadcast.
  • Transforms the Director’s instructions into precisely framed and composed shots to vividly capture the on-track action.
  • Coordinate closely with the Outside Broadcast team to ensure a flawless broadcast.

You're a match if you ideally have...

  • A strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and drive to learn and immerse yourself in the industry.
  • Experience with live events and a solid understanding of camera operations would be advantageous.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Film, Television, and Journalism, would be highly regarded.
  • Effective problem solving skills, paired with clear and constructive communication skills.
  • A collaborative nature who excels in a team environment, balanced with the ambition for autonomy and accountability.
  • An attentive attitude and ability to maintain focus for extended periods.
  • A full driver's license is essential, and further licensing permitting heavy truck driving would be advantageous.
  • Physical fitness and feel comfortable with lifting and carrying heavy camera equipment.

About The Company

Welcome to Entain.

Our journey as Entain began when we evolved from GVC Holdings on 9th December 2020, but our brands have been paving the way and making history since the 1880s.

Today, we’re one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming entertainment groups – a FTSE 100 company that is home to more than 25 widely recognised brands, such as bwin, Coral, Foxy, Gala, Ladbrokes and partypoker.

But that’s just the beginning. We’re constantly broadening our horizons and expanding our global influence. For example, our partnership with MGM Resorts International has allowed us to make waves in the US by powering BetMGM with our bespoke and top-of-the-line technology.

It’s with this unique technology that we’re revolutionising our industry, and we’re boldly working towards being THE world leader in sports betting and gaming. Really though, it’s the people that truly make us who we are. There’s over 30,000 of us around the world and counting, but we all play for the same team.

We’re proud to promote a culture that shatters barriers to unite, and encourages uncompromised diversity of background, thought and experience. When we win, we win together.

If you share our values and want to be part of the revolution, we want you on our team. With offices across 19 different countries, we have an excellent history of identifying and nurturing the finest talent on a global scale. We’re all about putting our customers at the heart of the action and, with us, you can help bring moments of excitement into people’s lives.
