Job Description

As an Accounting Analyst, Payroll and Expenses at Google, you'll be responsible for managing monthly close activities, establishing scalable processes to support different compensation and benefit plans, identifying opportunities to centralize and automate activities, and ensuring SOX compliance. You will also be involved in reviewing and implementing controls to mitigate risk, managing and implementing global processes for the accounting of new initiatives, and assisting with internal and external audits. You will be working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and will be required to communicate effectively with local stakeholders in both English and Spanish. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related function
  • Experience in accounting within the local/business industrial industry
  • Fluent communication in English and Spanish
  • Strong technical accounting, problem-solving, project management, and process improvement skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in both independently and in a team environment
Good to have:
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems
  • Experience in support different compensation and benefit plans
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting, finance or a related function.
  • Experience in accounting within the local/business industrial industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly close activities and present month-end results to management.
  • Establish scalable processes to support different compensation and benefit plans and identify opportunities to centralize, eliminate, and automate activities.
  • Review processes and implement controls to ensure we are mitigating risk for Google. 
  • Manage, establish, implement global processes for the accounting of new initiatives, ensuring SOX compliance and operational excellence.
  • Prepare for, and assist with internal, SOX and external audits. Document processes, ensure performance of key controls, and obtain/provide support as necessary.
