U.S. Channel Counsel

Description -

The U.S. Channel Legal Counsel will primarily support the U.S. channel in the United States, as well as provide back-up support for the channel in Canada, and take on projects as necessary within the North America Legal team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented and experienced attorney.  The successful candidate will be able to expand their skills working with a highly experienced and talented team.  The position is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

  • Provides legal advice to support customer-facing client decisions within the HP distribution channel.
  • Supports customer-facing business teams in developing consistent and efficient go-to-market strategies, templates, and processes.
  • Supports distribution channel compliance initiatives.
  • Develops risk profiles addressing complex antitrust law topics.
  • Refines and builds knowledge from a variety of resources, working towards becoming an expert within the HP distribution channel, and shares knowledge with other team members.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex legal issues within the HP distribution channel.

Education Required

  • A Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school plus an active bar membership from any of the fifty states or the District of Columbia.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience (from a combination of law firm, government, and/or in-house experience).
  • Well-developed level of business experience supporting clients or advising on specialty law matters.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience supporting distribution channel business models.
  • Well-developed breadth of practical knowledge of U.S. antitrust law with demonstrated in-depth knowledge in vertical restraints of trade and price discrimination.
  • Good interpretation skills to provide counsel of company policies and procedures.
  • Competence and experience in negotiating or advising business leadership and teams on commercial customer-facing transactions, preferably within the distribution channel.

The base pay range for this role is $153,800 to $236,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
