Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Technical Lead Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Interconnect Networking. This role requires leading a team, designing and developing systems connecting customer networks to Google Cloud, collaborating across teams, reviewing code, and staying updated on networking technologies. Responsibilities include guiding technical direction, launching new products and features, and ensuring quality and consistency. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in software development, network design and architecture, and technical leadership.

Must have:

8+ years software development experience
5+ years network design & troubleshooting
5+ years experience with network architectures & protocols
Software design & architecture experience
Team leadership & technical direction
Experience with Java or Go

Good to have:

Master's degree in related field
Experience in a complex, matrixed organization
Excellent communication skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
5 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
5 years of experience with network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.), and technologies, as well as concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
Experience with Java or Go, with the ability to resolve customer-related issues.
Experienced in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
