Job Description

Google seeks a Tech Lead, Software Engineering, to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software applications. Responsibilities include collaborating on scalability issues, managing team priorities, and researching new applications to enhance Google's product offerings. The ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of software development experience, including expertise in data structures, algorithms, testing, launching products, and software design/architecture. Experience with large-scale distributed systems, APIs, search ranking, or ML systems is preferred. This role involves working on critical projects, offering opportunities to switch teams as Google evolves. The position requires versatility, leadership, and enthusiasm for tackling full-stack challenges.

Must have:

8+ years software development experience
Data structures/algorithms expertise
Testing and product launch experience
Software design and architecture skills
Team priority and deliverable management

Good to have:

Technical leadership experience
Team management experience
Experience with large-scale distributed systems
API, search ranking, or ML system design/implementation

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

4 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
2 years of experience managing teams of software engineers.
Experience designing and implementing any of the following: large-scale distributed systems, APIs used by other developers, search ranking systems, Machine Learning (ML) systems.
