For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

The Optics team builds highly integrated component platforms with high speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC’s with Marvell DSP’s. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware and control loops. An engineer in this team will be involved in a full product lifecycle and will carry new products from inception all the way to NPI.

Our team handles production of Silicon Photonics related chip, sub-assembly, and modules. We consign several one-of-a-kind of equipment sets to test our novel optical devices. Our daily tasks mainly involved test data review, failure analysis, and continuous interaction with OSAT and CM's.

What You Can Expect

  • Interact with contract manufacturers to sustain optical chip, subassembly, and module product lines.

  • Monitor tool status and WIP of consigned ATE equipment for module and sub-assembly.

  • Take ownership of test line SPC and yield analysis to ensure product quality and reliability.

  • Work with engineering and quality teams on failure analysis and RMA process.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in product testing or manufacturing relating to semiconductor packages and modules.

  • Knowledge of optical systems, modules, components, and photonics devices (lasers, detectors, modulators, transceivers, DWDM system).

  • Experience in semiconductor yield and failure analysis.

  • Familiar with optical component characterization techniques and optical test equipment is a plus.

  • Experience of database (SQL), data analysis tool (JMP, R, Python, etc.), or LabView programming is a plus.

  • MS or higher of EE, Physics, or material science is preferred.
