We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Development team for Subway Surfers, specifically our Tech Pod. The Tech Pod enables the LiveOps and Feature pods to deliver great player experiences by optimizing the architecture, monitoring and improving technical health, integrating with backend systems, improving workflows and triaging and fixing complex issues. Subway Surfers is played by millions of players daily across the globe and this requires a special attention to the game's health and user experience.

This role can be filled by either a Senior or Principal depending on your experience and skills.

We offer relocation to Copenhagen for this role - alternatively we accept remote work from Barcelona.

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into our systems, tools and features. Empower all development pods to create unforgettable experiences for our players.
  • Seamlessly integrate packages from our central technology group, ensuring the game runs on efficient and stable tech.
  • Harness the power of data to understand and solve intricate problems across the tech stack.
  • Support and improve our workflows, tooling, documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Join a culture of continuous improvement, championing software engineering best practices, such as code reviews, build processes and testing.
  • Collaborate with teammates to take us to the next level of LiveOps Experience.

Your start at SYBO

In your first month: You’ll be welcomed into the SYBO group! Your team will guide you through the game’s architecture, tech stack and systems around it.

In your first 3 months: You’ll be fully integrated and actively contributing! You will have released multiple updates, gained insights into the KPIs we use to ensure quality and performance. You are now well-positioned to suggest improvements.

In your first 12 months: You are now a very important part of the team. Together with your team you have taken ownership of the game’s technical health and innovated and improved pipelines, workflows, tooling as well as resolving any issues that came your way.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in live game production and LiveOps responsibilities.
  • A curious mind and desire to delve into metrics and analytics, such as crash logs, stack traces and memory dumps, with the aim of identifying and resolving live issues.
  • Proficiency in developing and enhancing pipelines via tooling, automation, scripting, etc.
  • Solid experience with Unity, build pipelines and Native/Platform development.
  • Proven experience in building applications using asynchronous programming paradigms.
  • .NET / C# APIs proficiency.
