Summary

The Sr. Laboratory Engineer at Mattel will write and amend quality manuals and procedures, translate quality documents (QSOPs, GLOPs, GQMPs, PRDs), support ISO 17025 management system implementation, share best practices for lab facilities, and provide training to lab staff. Responsibilities include conducting ISO/IEC 17025 and GQMP 2170 audits, managing audit activities, reviewing records, and managing resources. The role also involves internal/external communication, conflict management, and responding to inquiries. Experience in chemical and physical toy testing is crucial, along with knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and audit skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
  • 5+ years' lab testing experience
  • ISO/IEC 17025 knowledge & audit skills
  • Excellent English communication
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Job Description

  • Write / amend quality manual and quality procedure.
  • Translate QSOPs, GLOPs, GQMPs, PRDs, and other document on Quality department.
  • Support management to maintain & implement ISO17025 management system.
  • Share best practices to maintain optimum operation / condition for all Mattel certified labs facilities.
  • Assist the supervisor to arrange and provide appropriate training to all Mattel certified labs staffs.
  • Give and receive internal/ external feedback and manage conflict,
  • Give support in interpretation, requirements and regulations.
  • Conduct audit according to ISO/IEC 17025 and GQMP 2170 worldwide.  
  • Review, prepare, maintain and control related records,
  • Organize audit activities as well as supervision such as communicate the schedule, audit scope, audit plan and make proper arrangement,
  • Manage available resources, ensure the implementation of Mattel requirement, as well as maintain communication with the Mattel certified lab,
  • Other ad hoc projects assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/ or above with chemistry related,
  • High level of integrity,
  • Willing to travel for oversea (such as Vietnam, Indonesia, India regions but not limited to),
  • Good in English (both speaking and writing) - can communicate with foreigner and can prepare the documents by English,
  • Familiar with both chemical and physical toy tests with lab testing experience for both areas at least 5 years,
  • Knowledgeable of ISO/IEC 17025 standards with audit skill (would be great with ISO 9001 auditor or ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor certificate),
  • Organized and able to prioritize work in a busy environment,
  • Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic,
  • Team player/ commitment to team objectives,
  • Diligent and analytical,
  • The routine job would include but not limit to answer the phones from internal Mattel/ vendor/ supplier enquiry, email reply, on-site training/ audit, prepare training materials, audit schedule arrangement, record maintenance, communicate with internally/ externally, CAPA review, translation, etc,
  • Work independently.
