About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled to join our team working on advanced Naval and Aircraft Simulation Systems based in Taweelah, near Abu Dhabi, where our team are responsible for the Configuration and Integration of software onto Naval Ship Simulators and Aircraft Tactical Simulators. We have around 20 devices based locally on site. You will be part of a small team of 2 Integration Specialists based locally on site, and part of a larger community of 40+ integration specialists led from our team in our Montreal, Canada HQ.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the software configuration processes, ensuring that all software components of our Simulators are properly versioned, documented, and integrated. This role plays a critical part in enabling a robust and reliable environment for simulation software development, testing, and deployment.
Software Configuration Management (SCM): Manage software version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), ensuring that all code and configuration changes are tracked and documented accurately.
Integration Support: Collaborate with software developers, quality assurance, and other engineering teams to integrate new features and modules into the simulation platform.
Change Management: Establish and enforce change control procedures, ensuring that any modifications to the software configuration are properly reviewed, approved, and documented.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of configuration management processes, build instructions, and release notes.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software configuration issues, build errors, and environment inconsistencies to minimize downtime and support smooth simulation operations.
Compliance: Ensure that all software configurations and deployment processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Support: You will provide supervision and technical support to developers in the integration of their systems, while ensuring that all requirements are met
Prioritization: You will define and manage site integration priorities.
Work in Progress: You will provide project (status, risks, etc) information to upper management.
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
3+ years of experience in software configuration management, preferably in naval, aerospace, aviation, or simulation software.
Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, Bash) for automation.
Knowledge of software deployment and management in Windows environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Maritime domain is an asset
Experience with simulation software or naval simulation systems.
Understanding of real-time simulation and embedded systems.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
