Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new networking features in the Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) area. This will involve designing and developing network virtualization solutions for containers, helping external Google Kubernetes Engine customers who face issues in production clusters, and engaging with the open source community to help shape the direction of networking in Kubernetes. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including building new features, improving existing ones, and working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science
  • Experience with networking solutions
  • Experience with Linux networking stack
  • Experience in Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with one or more virtualization technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with networking solutions, data plane and control plane elements.
  • Experience with Linux networking stack.
  • Experience in Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with one or more virtualization technologies, such as Extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF), or load balancing, or network security.
