Millennium, a leading investment firm, is seeking an experienced site reliability engineer to join a team in the midst of developing our next generation of in-house analytics and trading support tools. This role lies at the intersection of sophisticated technology and innovative investment strategies, with the goal of supporting some of the most talented Portfolio Managers in the world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable infrastructure solutions and self-service tools for our rapidly growing internal users.
Principal Responsibilities
This is a heavy hands-on engineering role, and you will be expected to:
- Design, build and maintain beautiful, robust and high-performance APIs and services
- Develop well defined processes for testing and integrating new technologies to meet both business and technical needs
- Drive the elimination of operational tasks through automation and self service
- Drive efficient utilization of resources through metrics and reporting

Required Skills / Experience
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Developer or similar role in software development
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Experience with containerization technologies (like Docker) and orchestration platforms (like Kubernetes)
- Experience in client-server, distributed computing and microservices design patterns
- Capability to work with monitoring and alerting tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, DNS, Firewalls, Load balancers, etc.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, understanding data redundancy and replication
- Knowledge of security protocols, vulnerability assessment, and maintaining compliance standards
- Experience developing and maintaining back-end distributed system
- Good understanding of various design patterns, algorithms & data structures
- Hands on experience with API development and integration
- Experience with designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly with both stakeholders and developers
- Demonstrated use of data-driven approaches to experiment, measure success, and iterate
